Donna and Ken are Melbourne based award winning photographers who are passionate about creating meaningful images that celebrate the special connection between grandchildren and grandparents.

Our sessions are photographed in the relaxed environment of the grandparents’ home or another meaningful location, rather than in a studio.

As joint founders of Grandkids photography we work closely together to ensure the consistency of the service provided to clients. However, we individually conduct the photo sessions.

We both have a current Working with Children certification.

Donna Killeen

I am a qualified Photographer and have been photographing since 2012.

Grandkids with Grandparents allows me to combine my passion for photography with something else close to my heart. Grandparents. The good times, the memories, what I learnt and the feeling of freedom when I spent time with mine.

I have strong memories of my time with my Grandparents but I don’t have any photographs. I made sure my son will have albums of photographs to show the special relationship he has with his grandparents. These albums will also cross generations.

That’s why I do what I do. I capture those genuine moments.

I photograph from a genuine place of ensuring that there will always be high quality photographs to enjoy now and for future generations.

It is also joyful.

When I photograph, I am in the moment, in my element and smiling. I see these delightful everyday moments rolling out in front of me that show the precious relationship grandparents have with their grandchildren.

Ken Spence

As a grandfather myself, I know first-hand how special the time spent with a grandchild can be, as evidenced by the recent photo below of me with my grandson.

Below is also the only one-on-one photo I have of me with a grandparent (in fact with my great grandfather). It is very special and through it I can remember how gently my Grandpa Morris was and his love of both sweets and radio broadcasts of the football.

GrandKids Photography provides me with the opportunity to use my photographic skills to capture for others their own important grandparent-grandchild moments. It is also honour and a privilege to spend some time photographing these very important moments for our clients.

I was awarded Master of Photography status by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography in 2018 and, in addition to other professional assignments, I volunteer as a photographer for Heartfelt.
